Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Rodolfo Garcia (right) welcomes USAID Mission Director Patrick Wesner with a warm handshake in last Monday’s (Dec. 3, 2018) flag ceremony. Speaking on behalf of Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu, Garcia acknowledged the role of USAID in “transforming the way we conserve biodiversity, manage our forests, and reduce forest degradation” through USAID-supported DENR programs such as the Biodiversity and Watersheds Improved for Stronger Economy and Ecosystem Resilience (USAID-B+WISER) and the LAWIN Forest and Biodiversity Protection System.
