Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu (right) discusses with Atty. Jas Garcia, OIC-Public Recreations Bureau and Manila Zoo spokesperson, the need to put up a sewage treatment plant (STP) for Manila Zoo and ensure that no untreated wastewater from the facility shall be discharged to Estero de San Antonio de Abad which drains to Manila Bay and contributes to its pollution. Cimatu issued the instruction during his recent ocular inspection of establishments in Malate, Manila, on learning that the zoo facility has no STP.
