DENR 6 celebrates 28th Year Anniversary through a Family Day

THE DENR 6 Family Day is an annual event in observance of the agency’s founding anniversary.              Some things are best savored by sharing meaningful bonding moments.

Both employees and officials of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Region 6 celebrated the agency’s 28th Year through a Family Day on June 10. To create a festive mood, the Tyangge sa DENR was set-up at the regional office courtyard which will continue until June 30, 2015.

The Tyangge sa DENR sells various native goodies and manned by the different office representatives. Some employees had a happy time choosing what snacks to eat during break time.

At lunchtime, groups huddled to share foods with some who opted to go for a boodle fight kind of lunch. The atmosphere was filled with fun as employees shared not only food but laughter and joy. Family Day is the time of the year at the DENR office when everyone took a “breather” and engaged themselves in group activities.

It has been 28 years of dedicated service to the people. Despite the odds, DENR employees in Region 6 and in the other regions have continued to fulfill its mandate of ensuring proper conservation, management, development and use of the country’s environment and natural resources

June is a special month in the DENR calendar as it is observed as the Environment Month. Family Day is a part of the month-long celebration. Come June 25, various DENR offices in the region will drumbeat the Arbor Day with series of tree planting activities. For the regional office, a tree planting will be done at the Iloilo Circumferential Road.

DENR employees will have more Family Days to come. Once in a year it feels good to remember that we belong to a family – the DENR Family.
