In collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Cadiz City, the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO)-Cadiz provided seedlings and participated in a tree planting activity at Mabini Farm School, Had. Tad-Y, Sitio Cotcot, Brgy. Mabini, Cadiz city on December 6, 2023.

A total of 3,256 seedlings composed of fruit trees, native, and timber were donated by CENRO-Cadiz to 51 of the 71 public schools in the city, a huge majority of the 5,000 seedlings that will be planted simultaneously as part of the project.

This is in support of DepEd’s 236,000 Trees-A Christmas Gift for the Children that aims to promote environmental preservation and instill environmental responsibility among Filipino children.

“Inter-governmental collaboration is key in ensuring that quality service is given to the people. I am honored that DepEd Cadiz City made DENR 6 through CENRO Cadiz a partner in the conduct of this activity. Everyone, whatever sector you belong to, has a role to play in protecting our environment”, says Regional Executive Director Livino B. Duran.

Public schools throughout the country will be participating in this initiative and it will also serve as a Christmas gift of DepEd to help ensure a clean and green environment to the future generations.
