The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) continue their support in each of their collaborative activities and as partners involving environmental protection and awareness, livelihood programs, disaster resilience activities, and many others.

The DENR-Provincial ENR Office of Negros Occidental headed by PENRO Joan Nathaniel Gerangaya was recognized as one of the active partners in the conservation, protection and rehabilitation of the environment in the province, receiving a Plaque of Recognition during the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) – 2023 Ecoluminaries: Abanse Negrense Environmental Awards on December 05, 2023 at Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. 

DENR 6 Regional Executive Director Livino B. Duran gave his congratulations to PENRO Negros Occidental and continues to encourage the DENR 6’s regional and field offices to collaborate with the LGUs and other stakeholders.

“Receiving such an award and being recognized by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental is a great honor to the Department. Rest assured we will continue to work with the LGU and other stakeholders for the betterment of our present and future generations,” said Duran.
