Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary Benny Antiporda (right) appeals to local government unit (LGU) executives who attended the National Solid Waste Management Commission (NSWMC) en banc meeting to “waste no time” in addressing their garbage, stressing that sanctions will be imposed against those will not comply with their approved solid waste management plans. LGUs are required to submit a progress report on the implementation of their respective SWM plans, to be submitted annually, to the National Solid Waste Management Commission (NSWMC). A total of 160 LGUs were given approval of their SWM plans during the en banc meeting held Thursday, December 6, 2018, at the Bureau of Soils and Water Management in Quezon City. ###
