In line with the National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) 2023 with the theme: "WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Region 6 through its Gender and Development (GAD) Committee conducted the yearly GAD Quiz Contest.

A total of twelve (12) participants from DENR 6 field offices send their one female and one male representatives to compete to the annual GAD Quiz Contest held at the DENR 6 Activity Center on March 17, 2023.

The activity aims to assess and improve the knowledge of the DENR 6 employees on the legal bases and other GAD related Information, enabling mechanisms policies and activities of the men and women of DENR 6.

Winners of the quiz are the following:

Champion (Male) - Allen L. Retos, PENRO Aklan

Champion (Female) - Mae Ann V. Inawasan, PENRO Aklan

2nd Place (Male) - Jasper John S. Aguirre, PENRO Iloilo

2nd Place (Female) - Sergia Mie G. Moy, PENRO Iloilo

3rd Place (Male) - Michael T. Agustin, PENRO Capiz

3rd Place (Female) - Genora Grace D. Alegora, PENRO Negros Occidental

“This activity was made to give emphasis on the equal opportunities given to a man and a woman in the workplace. Here in DENR 6 we appreciate all the works of our employees whether it is small or big contribution, and we are breaking the barriers to provide opportunities for growth to both sexes,” Regional Executive Director Livino B. Duran said.
