Environment Secretary Gina L. Lopez shows the media photos of a river in Palawan that became silted and ruddy because of the irresponsible mining activities in the province. According to Lopez, fishermen in the area have complained  of fewer catch  due to the poor river condition. The photos were part of the report submitted by the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development after conducting a water sampling activity in the area. ###

The exhibit, which is located at the DENR’s main lobby, displayed photos of the DENREU’s officers and activities showcasing collective action in fighting for DENR employees’ rights and benefits. ###

Environment Secretary Gina L. Lopez welcomes members of the press in the gathering of DENR beat reporters dubbed as "Meet the Beat" on July 27 in Bulwagan Ninoy at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center, Quezon City.  Lopez said she plans to meet with the group weekly to give them updates on her projects and inform them of her plans. ###

Environment Secretary Gina L. Lopez explains to the media that the audit of all mining companies is proof that they are given a chance to shape up before sanctions are imposed. Last July 8, Lopez issued DENR Memorandum Order No. 2016-01 directing a comprehensive review of all operating mines, including those under suspended and/or care and maintenance status. ###
